Student Registration
COMMOTION registration for students
COMMOTION student registration costs just $130 plus ticketing fee.

This includes:
  • A full weekend of amazing workshop content
  • Tutoring and mentoring from legends in New Zealand music
  • Entry to the Saturday night showcase gig
  • A multi-use 10% discount card for Beggs Musicworks, valid for 12 months
  • A chance to win Serato music software. We have some licenses for Serato Studio worth $405/each and Serato DJ Suite worth $727/each to give away.
  • Over $800 in value per-attendee, with the remaining costs being met through funding and sponsorship.

Registration Process
1 - Register
Complete and submit the registration form below.
2 - Pay for registration
  • Once you hit submit on the registration form below, you'll be automatically directed to the NCMA ticketing site, where you purchase your COMMOTION student weekend ticket.
  • Work through the steps to create an account and purchase your ticket.
  • You don't need to print or collect your ticket. You just give your name at the door when you check in on the first morning of COMMOTION, then you'll get a lanyard with your name on it.
3 - Showcase and workshops
  1. Once you're signed up, we will be in touch if you've indicated that you are interested in performing in the Saturday showcase.
  2. Keep an eye out for emails from COMMOTION with information as we get closer to the event. These will be sent to both the student and parent contacts entered into the registration form.
  3. Encourage your family and friends to get tickets for the showcase concert. Tickets available from June.
  4. Get in touch if you have questions.

We are able to coordinate a limited number of colab bands. These bands are made up of part bands, individuals, and COMMOTION tutors.

Terms & Conditions


Behaviour - Similar to behaviour rules at high school.

  • You will enter into the spirit of the event and attend with an open mind; be open to feedback; be supportive and encouraging of others.
  • Putdowns, bullying, rude or abusive language etc will not be tolerated.
  • COMMOTION is drug and alcohol free. You agree to not consume alcohol, recreational drugs, cigarettes or vape.
  • In the event of poor behaviour, you may be asked to leave COMMOTION. In this situation, no refund will be given.

Photo/video release

  • By participating you agree that COMMOTION may use any images or video for COMMOTION promotional and reporting purposes

Withdrawals and refunds

If you can no longer attend COMMOTION, you can notify us by email at info@commotion.nz

  • Before July 15th - Full refund, less ticketing fees.
  • After July 15th - No refund.

Cancellation

In the unlikely event COMMOTION is cancelled due to COVID-19, or another event outside of our control, full refunds will be provided, less ticketing fees.
